MITRE
http://www.mitre.org/

MITRE is a not-for-profit national technology resource that provides systems engineering, research and development, and information technology support to the government. It operates federally funded research and development centers for the Department of Defense, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Internal Revenue Service, with principal locations in Bedford, Massachusetts and McLean, Virginia. The goal of MITRE's technology transfer program is to ensure that its technology is broadly applied for the benefit of government sponsors and the general public alike. For further information on the organization's available technologies, go to MITRE's technology transfer home page (http://www.mitre.org/tech_transfer/), or contact Gerard Eldering at 703-883-6053.

NTTC - The National Technology Transfer Center
http://www.nttc.edu/

The National Technology Transfer Center (NTTC) was established in 1989 to provide American companies and individuals with access to technology developed with Federal R&D funds. Staffed with technology transfer specialists, technical area experts and information management professionals, the Center provides technology transfer support via several different areas:
  • access to $70 billion worth of research and development
  • 100,000 research professionals at over 700 federal laboratories and universities
  • technology assessment services; product testing and prototyping and professional training and development. These services build upon each other to create NTTC's full service commercialization center.

Open Channel Software has established a relationship with NTTC to host the open source software created in government labs and agencies. We have now begun hosting the COSMIC collection, developed by NASA and distributed through NTTC.
